and left your home to follow Him.
Through the dangers of war
and the fear of death,
you remained faithful to Him.
You witnessed the horrors of war
and suffered injustice at the hands of men.
Pray for us, who so often fail to see
the harm we do to one another.
Ask God to help us recognize our faults
and forgive those who have wronged us.

Even when you feared the fire,
you turned to Christ in prayer.
Saint Joan, pray for us
when fear takes hold of our hearts,
when we must face what we cannot change,
or do what is right despite the suffering it may bring.
Ask God to obtain for us courage without pride,
patience when our strength is failing,
and the humility to seek His help
rather than trust in ourselves alone.
When fear makes us hesitate,
help us remember that we need not be fearless
to remain faithful.
And when our trials seem greater than we can bear,
pray that we may hold fast to Christ
through suffering, darkness, and the hour of death,
and never abandon Him,
who did not abandon you.
