you know the weight of discord
in the household,
you suffered malice among your kin
and yet did not forsake
what was just and true.
You chose the good of the household and the faith of your people,
even when it cost you your life.

for you understand the wound
and the way of healing.
Intercede for us,
that in trials of family discord
we may lay aside self-will,
choose what is right before God,
