Prayers to Saint Romuald of Ravenna

O Saint Romuald,
you fled the noise of the world,
yet did not turn your back on its wounds.
In silence, you found the mercy of Christ
—and from silence, you rose
to teach others the way.
Pray for us,
that we may seek stillness not to escape,
but to be made ready for love,
as Christ loved us ✝
Amen.
Saint Romuald—hermit, reformer, and faithful servant of Christ.
Prayer to Saint Romuald for Contemplative Life
Prayer to Saint Romuald for
Perseverance in Prayer
Prayer to Saint Romuald for Strength to Resist Worldly Honour
O Saint Romuald, lover of silence and faithful servant of God,
you desired the hidden life,
yet bore the long labour of reform
for the good of souls.
Pray for us, that we may seek God
in silence with pure hearts
and steady minds,
and that we may accept the duties given to us without losing the inward gaze.
Teach us to love stillness,
not as escape, but as the place
where God is found.
Ask that our thoughts
may be gathered,
our hearts made quiet,
and our lives ordered toward Him.
Amen.
O Saint Romuald, who endured
long years with prayer through struggle and trial,
and never abandoned the way,
pray for us.
Teach us to remain faithful in prayer when it feels empty,
when words grow heavy,
and when perseverance seems
harder than zeal.
Ask for us the grace to continue
not by feeling, but by trust;
not by sweetness, but by obedience. Teach us to return to prayer each day without discouragement, believing that God is at work even when we see no fruit.
Saint Romuald,
example of steadfast prayer,
pray for us.
Amen.
O Saint Romuald,
you were offered honour, authority, and praise, yet chose obscurity
and the hidden life,
seeking not the approval of men
but the will of God.
Pray for us.
Teach us to resist
the desire to be seen, praised,
or remembered, and to turn away from honours that draw the heart outward and scatter the soul.
Ask for us the strength to accept humility without bitterness,
to endure misunderstanding without resentment, and to choose faithfulness over recognition.
Teach us to value what is hidden
to love the work that bears no name, and to trust that God sees
what the world ignores.
When we are tempted to measure ourselves by status or success,
pray that we may remain free,
content to belong to God alone.
Saint Romuald, who refused
worldly honour for the sake of truth, pray for us.
Amen.
