Prayers to Saint Ulrich of Augsburg

O Saint Ulrich,
when the city shook and many fled in fear,
you felt its weight—yet stood firm in Christ.
Not by strength of arms, but by trust in God,
you became a shield for the trembling and weak.
Pray for us,
when truth is mocked,
when our house is besieged,
that we may not falter,
but endure—for the name of Christ,
who endured for us all.
Amen.
Saint Ulrich of Augsburg—bishop, shepherd, and intercessor of the Church.

and faithfulness
until health returns
or rest is given.
Saint Ulrich,
friend of the weak,
pray for me.
Amen.
O Saint Ulrich,
stand with me
when fear presses in
and my strength is tested.
When the weight is heavy
and the way is narrow,

steadiness of heart,
faithfulness under trial,
and calm when
every urge calls me to flee..
Saint Ulrich,
witness of endurance,
pray for me.
Amen.

stand near to me
as I carry life
in fear, pain, and uncertainty.

and peace in the hour of birth.

Prayer to Saint Ulrich for Relief from Vertigo, Balance Disorders, and Faintness
Prayer to Saint Ulrich for Eye Ailments and Failing Sight
Prayer to Saint Ulrich for Relief from Fever and Weakness
O Saint Ulrich,
Faithful intercessor,
you who steadfastly carried
the weight of Augsburg
when many wavered,
stand now by us, turning
and faint in heart and head.
Ask the Lord
to calm the shifting world within,
restore clear footing
and steady breath,
that we may stand firm
in Christ’s peace.
Amen.
O Saint Ulrich,
steadfast shepherd,
you who watched over your flock with care and kept vigil
in times of danger,
pray for us when our sight grows dim.
When our eyes are weakened
by illness or strain,
when clarity fades
and darkness encroaches,
ask the Lord to grant
healing where it is fitting,
and patience where
healing must wait.
Pray that we may accept limitation without fear,
and learn to see with the heart
when the eyes no longer
serve as they once did.
Keep us from frustration
and despair,
and lead us to trust in Christ,
who is the true Light
that no darkness can overcome.
Amen.
O Saint Ulrich,
faithful intercessor,
you who stood firm
when strength was tested
and did not falter under
the weight laid upon you,
stand now by us in our weakness.
When fever burns
and the body is worn and unsteady,
pray for us to the Lord,
that He may grant relief according to His will,
restore what is spent,
and steady what is shaken.
Ask that we may endure
sickness with patience,
neither despairing nor murmuring,
and trusting that
God does not abandon
those who suffer in humility.
May our strength
return in its time,
and may our weakness draw us
into deeper trust in Christ.
Amen.

Prayer to Saint Ulrich for the Dying and for a Peaceful Death
O Saint Ulrich, faithful shepherd of souls,
who stood firm in times of fear
and guided those who trembled
with patience and trust in God.
Intercede for us.
Pray for those we love who now suffer
under the weight of grave and terminal illness,
whose bodies are weakened by pain,
whose nights are long, and whose strength is spent.
Be near to them in their suffering.
Pray that they may not be overcome by fear or despair,
that their pain may be eased according to God's will,
and that they may be upheld by the quiet presence
of Christ in their final days and hours.
May they be granted clarity of mind
and peace of heart,
that they may reconcile what must be reconciled,
forgive and be forgiven,
and place their lives gently into the hands of God.
Stand with them at the hour of death,
that it may not be a moment of terror,
but a passage marked by trust, by prayer,
and by hope in the mercy of Christ.
Saint Ulrich, protector in life and in death,
pray also for us, who remain for a time in this world,
that when our own final hour comes,
we may meet it with faith rather than fear,
with humility rather than resistance,
and with confidence in God's mercy.
Pray that we too may be granted
a peaceful and blessed death,
and that we may rest, like you,
in the hand of God,
where no pain, no suffering,
and no shadow of fear can touch us.
Amen.
Sancte Udalrice,
ora pro nobis.
Prayer to Saint Ulrich for Protection from Floods and Water Dangers
Prayer to Saint Ulrich for Fishermen and Sailormen
Prayer to Saint Ulrich for Abundance of Fish and Preservation of God’s Waters
O Saint Ulrich,
steadfast shepherd
and faithful protector,
you who stood firm
when enemies pressed at the gates
and fear threatened the people entrusted to your care,
pray for us.
When rivers swell
and storms break,
when floods threaten
homes and fields,
and when waters becom
a source of fear,
ask the Lord to guard us from harm
and preserve what has been
entrusted to our care.
Pray that we may act with wisdom and calm, not driven by panic,
but trusting in God’s providence
amid forces beyond our strength.
May the waters be restrained according to His will,
and may we be kept safe
through the mercy of Christ,
the Lord of all creation.
Amen.
O Saint Ulrich,
steadfast shepherd,
you who kept your flock in safety when the storm raged
and the waters rose,
stand now by us in peril
upon rivers and seas.
Guard fishermen in their labor
and those who venture in boats;
ask the Lord
to still the sudden storm,
steady the trembling hand,
and keep us from the deep.
May we return in peace,
giving thanks to Christ,
the Lord of all creation.
Amen.
O Saint Ulrich,
faithful protector in times of want,
you who knew the blessing of full nets and clear streams, intercede for us that the waters may be pure and their creatures plentiful.
Ask the Lord to grant abundance
to fishermen in their need, and teach us to keep His waters as He made them —living, clean, and life-giving.
May every catch lead us to gratitude, and every shore to
praise the Creator of all.
Amen.

Prayer to Saint Ulrich for Travelers and Wanderers
and to Those on a Journey
O Saint Ulrich,
faithful shepherd and companion of the way,
you knew the weight of responsibility,
the uncertainty of the road,
and the need to walk forward
without seeing the end.
Pray for us as we set out on our journeys,
whether near or far,
that we may travel with care,
patience, and trust in God.
Watch over us on roads and paths,
across rivers and through unfamiliar places.
Pray that we may be kept from harm,
from sudden danger and misfortune,
and from the anxiety that weighs upon the heart
when the way is uncertain.
When plans fail and delays arise,
pray that we may not grow restless or bitter,
but learn to receive what is given
with humility and steadiness of spirit.
And when our journey is not only across land,
but through change, loss, or uncertainty,
pray for us still.
Ask that we may walk without fear,
trusting that God leads even when the path is unclear
and the destination remains hidden.
Teach us to travel lightly,
not clinging to comfort or control,
but attentive to what truly matters,
and open to the needs of those
we meet along the way.
Saint Ulrich,
guardian of travelers and wanderers,
pray that we may arrive safely where we are sent,
and that every journey, great or small,
may draw us closer to God,
deepen our faith,
and shape us in patience and gratitude.
And pray for us,
that at the end of all our journeys,
like you,
we may reach
our true home with God.
Amen.

Prayer to Saint Ulrich for Weavers and Hidden Manual Labour
Prayer to Saint Ulrich for Protection of Home, Garden, and Harvest
Prayer to Saint Ulrich for Winemakers and Vinegrowers
O Saint Ulrich,
faithful shepherd
and patient guardian,
pray for all who labour
with their hands
in quiet and unseen work.
Remind us that faithful labour,
offered with care and attention,
may become a form of silent prayer,
when hand and mind
are held in order.
Pray that our hands
may remain steady
and our thoughts kept in peace,
that tangled threads may be
set right with patience,
and that what is made
in quiet diligence
may serve others well.
Teach us to work
without haste or self-importance,
to accept the limits of our strength,
and to trust that even hidden labour,
offered in faith,
is known to God.
Amen.
O Saint Ulrich,
faithful shepherd
and careful guardian,
you who watched over what was entrusted to your care,
pray for us.
When our homes, gardens,
and fields are threatened
by storm, blight, neglect,
by pests and vermin,
and by all that destroys the fruit
of honest labour,
ask the Lord to preserve
what He has given us
and to bless the work of our hands.
Pray that what is planted
may grow in due season,
that what is gathered may sustain life,
and that we may receive both abundance and scarcity
with gratitude and trust in God.
And guard us also inwardly,
that harmful thoughts,
resentment, and sin
may not take root within us
and spoil what God desires
to cultivate in our hearts.
Amen.
O Saint Ulrich,
pray for those who tend the vine
and make the wine,
for all who labour
in vineyard and cellar.
We plant, we prune,
we watch and wait,
trusting that what we cannot force,
God will give in His time.
The vineyard demands
patience and care,
hope through sun and storm alike,
and trust that the harvest
will answer the labour.
Pray for us as we work
the soil and the vine,
that we may be faithful keepers
of what has been entrusted to us,
neither careless nor self-important,
but attentive to the vine, the land,
and the season.
Pray that the fruit of our labour
may gladden hearts, sustain life,
and be shared with gratitude,
and that the work of our hands
may bring blessing and not harm.
And remind us,
in seasons of waiting or loss,
that God keeps His
finest gifts in reserve,
and that what is offered in faith
is never poured out in vain.
Amen.
