Prayers to Saint Ursus of Aosta

Sacred artwork by Faith and Verse. © Faith and Verse, 2026. All rights reserved. Portrait of Saint Ursus of Aosta with traditional Catholic prayer.

O Saint Ursus,

servant of Christ in the quiet valley,

you worked humbly,

and received no earthly honour.

You kept bread for the hungry,

left grain for the poor and for the birds,

and made charity your daily rule.

Teach us to work without seeking praise,

to serve in secret,

and to remember that what men overlook,

God holds forever.

Pray for us,

that we may love without display,

give without counting,

and remain faithful in hidden ways.

Amen.

Saint Ursus of Aosta, priest and confessor

Prayer to Saint Ursus for
Children Lost Before Baptism

Prayer to Saint Ursus for
For Orphans and the Abandoned

Prayer to Saint Ursus for
Those Who Serve Without Recognition

O Saint Ursus, priest of God
and confessor of Christ,
you lived without fame,
but became a refuge for
the small and the sorrowing.
Mothers came to you
in their sorrow,
and you were there when the grief struck the hardest,
when their children departed
before they could be born
of water and Spirit.
Pray for those who have lost,
and for those who mourn in silence.
Pray that we may have hope
that the unborn rest
in the mercy of God,
and that the little ones taken
before the font rest
in His infinite compassion.

Amen.

O Saint Ursus, priest of God
and confessor of Christ,

you welcomed orphans to your table,

and gave refuge to those the world turned away.

You felt their hunger,

and fed them bread
and the comfort of presence.

Pray for children without parents,

for the abandoned and forgotten,

for those who grow without
shelter or home.

Pray that they may find protection,

that kind hands may reach them,

and that they may know they are

beloved sons and daughters

of our Father in heaven.

Amen.

O Saint Ursus,

most blessed confessor of Christ,

you received no earthly honour,

no place among the rulers,

yet your name endured where the proud were forgotten.

You laboured faithfully
and served in silence.

Pray for those
whose work is unseen,

whose labour is taken but not thanked,

whose faithfulness earns no credit,

and whose names remain unknown.

Pray that they may endure
in hidden service,

knowing their deeds
are seen by God,

and find their reward in Him alone.

Amen.

Beatissimus Ursus confessor Christi, sacerdos Dei, ora pro nobis.

Most blessed Ursus, confessor of Christ and priest of God, pray for us.

Prayer to Saint Ursus for
Healing of the Body

Prayer to Saint Ursus for
Faintness of Body and
Weakness in the Limbs

Prayer to Saint Ursus for
Relief from Rheumatism

O most blessed Ursus,
confessor of Christ,

you tended the sick with mercy,

and in your name the faithful
have sought healing from pain of the back, the kidneys, and the limbs.

Pray for those who suffer in body,

whose pain is quiet,

whose strength runs thin.

Pray for those whose

bodies are burdened,

who wake with pain
and lie down with it.

Pray that their wounds
may be eased,

their strength renewed,

and their suffering lifted
before the mercy of God.

Amen.

O Saint Ursus, priest of God
and confessor of Christ,

you served the sick,

and gave strength to those

who could no longer stand.

Pray for those whose strength
has left them,

whose limbs falter,

whose days are marked by weariness.

Pray that their steps be steadied,

their burden eased,

and that they be guarded against despair when the body fails.

Amen.

O Saint Ursus, priest of God and most faithful confessor,

the faithful call upon you
in pain of the joints and limbs.
Pray for those who rise in stiffness,
or whom cold grips the bones,
for whom motion becomes sorrow,
and rest brings no relief.
Pray that they may endure in trial,
find patience in suffering,
and know moments of peace
amid the ache.

Amen.

Prayer to Saint Ursus for
Charity Workers and
Those Who Serve the Poor

Prayer to Saint Ursus for
Manual Labourers and Farmers

Prayer to Saint Ursus Against Natural Disasters
and Livestock Disease

O most blessed Ursus,
confessor of Christ,

you fed the hungry,
left grain in the field
for the birds and the poor,
and made charity your daily rule.

You asked for no praise,
but gave shoes to the barefoot
and served the forgotten
in the name of Christ.

Pray for those
who serve in hidden corners,
who carry bread, bind wounds,
and give without counting.

Pray that their hands may never tire, and that their work bear eternal fruit.

Amen.

O Saint Ursus, priest of God
and confessor of Christ,

you worked with your hands,

you reaped the fields,

and left grain for the
poor and the birds.

You laboured in silence,

giving honour to God through toil.

Pray for those
who carry the burden of the day,

who repair what breaks,

and build what others depend on.

Pray for those
who rise before the sun,

who dig, haul, lift, and sow.

Pray that their toil may bear fruit,

that their strength may not fail,

and that their labour rise
as an offering to God.

Amen.

O Saint Ursus, confessor of Christ and priest of God,

you know the valleys
where floods rise,
and how the plagues
threaten the living.

People called your name

when the storms came down

and their cattle fell.

Pray for those who guard the land,

who watch the skies,

who live by their crops and herds.

Pray that their homes be shielded,

their flocks spared,

and ruin be turned
from the work of their hands.

Amen.
